Clash!! Empirio Ivankov!

For 24 hours only, Clash!! with the Miracle Man himself, Emporio Ivankov! This time we’ll be bringing you a strategy for the toughest difficulty, Clash!! Ivankov KAMA world!

Going Green

We had a pretty hard time with this one at first, but in the end, we pulled it together and came up with this DEX type crew to take on Ivankov. Let’s go ahead and introduce our dream team!

Green.

Green.

Our Captain is going to be Roronoa Zoro Ashura Ichibugin, and our Friend Captain is Trafalgar Law ROOM. You could make Zoro your Friend Captain as well, but we really want to boost our ATK this time, so Law’s Captain Ability is a big plus. With both of their abilities working in tandem we’ve doubled our HP and almost quintupled our ATK, and should be able to deal the finishing blow to Ivankov.

Plus, Law’s Captain Ability, ROOM – Chambres, can turn every non-DEX slot to either DEX, RCV, or TND, so we’ll have options if we find ourselves running low on HP later.

Luckily for us, Ivankov does not use Immunity on himself, so we’ll be able to bring along Usopp Golden Pound for the boss fight. Plus, Flintlock Pistols Izo‘s Special, Beautiful Dual Flintlocks and Beautiful Secretary Kalifa‘s Special Beautiful Secretary’s Job will let you turn all of your slots to DEX!

Not only that, but to make sure we’re covered on the DEF front, we’re including White Chase Smoker. He’s got high HP and ATK, but more importantly, his Special, White Out, will cut the damage we take by half for three turns! Offense, defense, slot control… our crew is looking pretty well rounded now.

Charge!

For our strategy to work, we can’t let a single turn go to waste. We’ll cover the important points of the first five battles in order.

Usopp's time to shine.

Usopp’s time to shine.

Leave the mook with the longest wait for last and take care of the others as quickly as you can, then attack with only Usopp until the last moment before his attack. If you have some meat, go ahead and take the hit and try to get in a few more turns to charge your specials. You ought to be able to knock at least 4-6 turns off of your charge time in this battle.

Leave the Naginata guy for last.

Leave the Naginata guy for last.

Once Naginata Billions’ HP gets down to a certain point, he’ll use Anti-Healing. By deliberately letting him hit you with this once his HP gets south of 50%, you can buy another two turns to charge your specials, and getting them usable by the time we get to Ivankov is key!

That turtle is scary strong.

That turtle is scary strong.

You might take one look at that turtle and figure that it’s going to be the perfect opportunity to charge up your special, but don’t let his innocent looks fool you. That guy has a scary high ATK stat, and he’ll hit you for close to 3,000 damage every time. Be forwarned, but if you can afford to take the damage at this point, go ahead and take him on with characters with low Combo numbers like Law.

Defense. Defense. Defense.

Defense. Defense. Defense.

In this battle, you’re going to encoutner either a Striker Group Leader or Assassin Master, and you’ll want to leave them for last. Both will start off their turn by using Bind, and we’ll want to charge our Specials for that much longer even if it means getting hit with Bind. Bind will either hit PSY type Usopp or, in the case of the Striker Group Leader, everyone BUT Usopp, so either way you won’t find yourself completely tied up.

At last, Miracle Man Ivankov appears!

And what an entrance it is!

And what an entrance it is!

The most crushing problem we’re going to need to face here is that once Ivan’s HP gets low enough, he’ll shout “I’m not gonna die!” and heal himself back up to more than half of his HP. Golden Pound is very useful in this fight, but it won’t help us here, as Ivan will use this ability as an interrupt no matter whose turn it’s supposed to be. Here’s how we got around it:

That's some kind of welcome...

That’s some kind of welcome…

The battle starts off with a First Strike attack that’ll do 6,666 damage, so make sure your HP is fairly high going into the boss battle.

Chambres...

Chambres…

We’re going to go ahead and use Law’s Special, ROOM -Chambres to boost our ATK power and hopefully our HP as well.

Emporio Hormones

Emporio Hormones

Ivankov is going to attack every turn, so there won’t be any time for us to catch our breath. Plus, once every three turns, he’s going to use Emporio Hormones and boost his own ATK and DEF for two turns. The battle is going to settle into a cycle of two turns taking about 6,000 damage and being unable to do much in return, and one turn taking about 4,000 damage and dealing a normal amount of damage in return.

Let’s watch the cycle and time our own Specials for the best advantage! First, let’s stop him in his tracks with Golden Pound

When Golden Pound runs out, use White Out

When Golden Pound runs out, use White Out

Now we just attack, taking what chances we get to grab some meat for recovery. Don’t mess up one of these chances by blowing away your meat with a PERFECT! Then, as soon as Golden Pound runs out, go ahead and use White Out!

Next turn the time will be ripe!

Next turn the time will be ripe!

By this time White Out has run out too, and our HP isn’t looking too hot, but we’ve finally got him on the ropes.

Flip your slots with Kalifa and Izo, then use Zoro's Special!

Flip your slots with Kalifa and Izo, then use Zoro’s Special!

Just as the next round of Emporio Hormones is running out, we’re going to go all in. Leave Ivan with even a little HP after this turn and we’re probably going to need to cry for a bit. Go ahead and use Zoro’s Special now, if we don’t defeat Ivankov here we’re going to be looking at another “I’m not gonna die!” For sure.

We're not gonna Lose!

We’re not gonna Lose!

We didn’t let pressure throw us off our game, didn’t drop the chain, and did the kind of massive damage we needed to defeat Ivankov once and for all!

Wel-KAMA to our crew, Ivankov!

Wel-KAMA to our crew, Ivankov!

We recruited Ivankov and got a new Title, Hee Hah!!

Got a new Title!

Got a new Title!

There are probably other crews one could use to take on Ivankov. Perhaps you could set Law as both your Captain and Friend Captain? Mihawk is another option, and his Special might allow you to defeat Ivan a little faster. Be sure to try a few different configurations and use the crew that works best for you!
