Great Ambition: Let Me Be Warden
Great Ambition is now available on Extra Island! Has everyone given it a shot yet? Today, we’re bringing you the guide for this quest’s highest difficulty, Great Ambition: Let Me Be Warden!
Just like in Kalifa’s Secret Assignment, we’re facing a quest today that restricts all types other than STR. We’re going to go with high-stat characters who have especially useful Specials for this one.
Our Slot-Changing and ATK-Boosting Crew
It won’t be easy taking out those tough guards in that hell they call Impel Down, but here is the crew that we put together to do just that!
We chose Arlong – Sun Pirates as our Captain and Blackbeard as our Friend Captain. With their Captain Abilities combined, our STR-type crew will get a 5x boost to ATK and a 2.25x boost to HP. Plus, thanks to Arlong, we’ll get our Special turns reduced by 1! The only downside here is that Blackbeard’s Captain Ability causes our crew to take more damage than usual, so extreme caution must be used when going against the enemies along the way, and especially Hannyabal when he uses his Special!
For our crewmates, we chose Rob Lucci: Six Powers – Cipher Pol No. 9 and Blueno: Six Powers – Cipher Pol No. 9 to help us match our slots. We also added Loveseeking Lola – Thriller Bark Bride who, just like Arlong, will boost the effect of those slots. Luck will play a role when it comes to Lucci changing, but his Special will also halve enemy defense, which will definitely help us in the battles ahead.
And since everyone on our crew besides Blackbeard is of the Powerhouse class, we added Gasparde – Gasparde Pirates to boost their ATK by 1.5x. Finally, even at it’s lowest level, we’ll get an extra 1.2x boost to ATK, so remember to use Thousand Sunny or an upgraded Going Merry as your ship!
Setting off to stop the crack down on Extra Island!
It’s very important to avoid any unnecessary hits from the enemy because you’ll be taking a lot of damage due to Blackbeard’s Captain Ability. Do your best to charge your Specials, use Meat when you need to, and try not to allow enemies besides Pigs or Turtles to hit you along the way.
Watch out for the Blugori! They’re everywhere!
Those low-ranking Blugori prison guards who appear in every phase between Battles 2 and 6 can really pack a punch, so don’t let your guard down when you find yourself up against them. Each one of them will use a skill that halves your HP when their turn comes around, and since replenishing HP is not such a strong point when it comes to this crew, you’ll need to do your best to take them out before they can act!
Face off with the Rare-Boss, Saldeath!
Saldeath will appear as a Rare-Boss somewhere along the way, and while at first glance, it seems he’s pretty slow to act and isn’t much of a threat, that all changes once you take out his Blugori. Once he’s alone, he’ll shorten his turn intervals to 1 and Bind your captain for 2 turns. While Saldeath himself isn’t too much of a threat, it would be best if we didn’t take any hits by taking him out in the first turn if at all possible. Use the second turn to take out the rest of the enemies and end the battle.
Battle 6 is where things can get pretty difficult. Two of the Blugori here have short turn intervals, and depending on the situation, the third Blugori might too. We definitely don’t want to take hits from all three of these guys, plus we have one last battle after this. It’s best to keep your HP up and take out the Blugori before they get a chance to attack!
Battle 7: Under-Warden of Impel Down, Hannyabal!
Hannyabal appears in Battle 7 and from the look of things, he seems to be in quite a panic! He’ll preemptively boost his DEF greatly and change slots randomly with [BLOCK]/[BOMB] slots included and no [STR] slots!
Too bad about the [BLOCK] slots. We really can’t do anything about those. However, the [BOMB] slots can be dealt with! First, use Lucci’s Finger Pistol: Yellow Lotus, halving the enemies’ DEF and changing up your slots. If you’ve managed to get two or three [STR] slots, then victory just might be in your reach! Next, use Lola’s Wooing Strike to boost the effect of slots. She’ll also be able to lower the enemies’ DEF, but since Lucci’s has a greater effect and lasts 2 turns, make sure you use Lola’s Special after his. Finally, if you use Gasparde’s Jade-Green Sword Robe, you can expect to do some major damage to the enemy!
Hannyabal changes up slots every turn, but this shouldn’t be a problem since we managed to do so much damage on our first turn! Now all that’s left is using the rest of our Specials and attacking the enemy!
We managed not to miss with our tap-timing! However, once we got Hannyabal’s HP down to nothing, he came back at us with a normal attack that usually inflicts 3,500 damage. Since we’re using Blackbeard as our Friend Captain, it did a whopping 7,000 damage! Forget about surviving this hit if you’re low on HP! Had we not been so careful up until now, this might have been the end for us.
We managed to recruit both Hannyabal and Saldeath!
And as proof of our victory, we got the Me title!
So what other crews can lead you to victory in this battle? Tyrant Bartholomew Kuma – Government Human Weapon might be a better choice than Blueno for slot swapping, and he’ll also greatly boost the effects of slots as well! Swap Lao G. – Donquixote Pirates for Loveseeking Lola – Thriller Bark Bride, and you’ll be able to change all your slots ([BLOCK] slots included) to [G] slots, allowing for even more damage to be dealt! If you were lucky enough to get Lao G in Rare-Recruit, you’ll definitely want to put him to the test here. Try out different strategies and see what works best for you!
