Intense Combat! Chin Jao Family!! Devastating

Special quest Intense Combat! Chin Jao Family!! is now at Extra Island! Has everyone taken the challenge yet? This time we’re bringing you the strategy to the highest difficulty, Intense Combat! Chin Jao Family!! Devastating!

A DEX character restricted quest

Only DEX characters in this crew!

Only DEX characters in this crew!

Just like in the previous quest “Lucci’s Artisan Spirit”, only DEX characters can be used in this quest. As much as we can, we’ll take on this quest with elite characters with high stats and excellent Specials.

A powerful crew that can reduce enemy DEF

This is the crew we came up with to defeat and Recruit the gang who shakes the coliseum.

Two DEF-crushing crewmembers

Two DEF-crushing crewmembers

For our Captain, we’ve chosen Roronoa Zoro – Ashura Ichibugin and Roronoa Zoro – Bird Dance for our Friend Captain. By combining these two characters’ Captain Abilities, we’ll double our DEX characters’ HP and boost their ATK by 5x.
In regards to our crewmates, we’ve chosen Miss Doublefinger – Human Spike for her ability to boost DEX characters’ ATK and Armed Fighter Unit – Green Pirates to change our [STR] slots to [DEX]. From there, to drastically reduce the DEF of our enemies as well as reduce damage taken, we’ve chosen Ghost Princess Perona and Tashigi: Sea-Prism Club – Chambres to again drastically reduce enemy DEF and Delay their turn. With this we’ll be able to deal damage to our high DEF enemies.
As for our ship, we’ll need a Level 6 or higherGoing Merry for an increased firepower of 1.2x for our crew.

Charge Specials along the way

We’ll charge our Specials while taking hits from Turtles and Porcs as we go.
We’ve formed a crew with high HP and in our final battle with Sai , his main attacks are percentage-based so it won’t be a problem if we take a few hits.
However, the enemies along the way will put us at a disadvantage if their turn comes or their HP drops to a certain amount, so we’ll need to defeat them before they get the chance. Luckily, this quest is relatively easy to charge Specials so this won’t be in our list of concerns.
We also want to have [DEX] slots ready for the Boss battle.

The Armed Fighter is telling us something important

The Armed Fighter is telling us something important

A rare encounter with Jean Ango

Along the way we might encounter the bounty hunter Jean Ango.
As a preemptive strike, he’ll reduce our remaining HP by 10% and change all our slots to [EMPTY]. Also, once his HP falls to half, he’ll once again reduce our remaining HP by 10% but this time he’ll change all our slots to [BOMB] so we need to be careful. Thankfully, he doesn’t have very high ATK or HP. With our crew we should be able to take him down within 1-2 turns.

We could use Bird Dance early and charge it again

Boo appears in Battle 5

In Battle 5 we’ll encounter Sai’s younger brother, Boo. In his preemptive strike, he’ll boost our slot effects for 99 turns!
But just as we thought this was our chance to deal huge damage using characters with matching slots, it actually wasn’t that big of a boost. It would have been much more effective to use a Special that can boost slot effects but unfortunately, we can’t anymore. Be careful when forming your crew!

Unable to use a slot-boosting Special!

Unable to use a slot-boosting Special!

Therefore we’ll fight Boo without using our Specials. But we can’t defeat him in a single turn. Not to mention, the surrounding Street Punks are just as powerful him. Therefore, we’ll first take down all the Street Punks and attack Boo with our remaining characters in this turn.
In this first turn alone we were able to defeat all the surrounding Street Punks and reduce Boo’s HP by 70%.
We’ll take a hit and then defeat him on our next turn.

It's difficult to defeat Boo in 1 turn!

Sai is our opponent in battle 8

Sai appears as the final boss in Battle 8. In a preemptive strike Sai will use his Special resulting in our HP to drop by half and change our Captain and Friend Captain’s slots to unfavorable [STR] slots. Furthermore, he’ll give himself a DEF boost and create a barrier that will render our attacks ineffective for 7 turns!!

A lot of effects on Sai!

A lot of effects on Sai!

Here, we’ll immediately use Tashigi’s Unexpected Club Master. With her ability to damage random enemies 7 times we’ve crushed Sai’s barrier as well as drastically lowered his boosted DEF! Our Special also Delayed him!
Now that his barrier has been broken, our offensive Specials can now be used! We’ll immediately use our Friend Captain Zoro’s Single Sword Style Bird Dance Special to deliver a powerful blow! Let’s take advantage of this situation and continue our attacks for this turn!

Tashigi is a perfect match!

Tashigi is a perfect match!

After finishing our first turn, we were able to reduce Sai’s HP by about 30%. But Sai still has high DEF and put up another 7-hit barrier. Now that he’s no longer Delayed, he’s sure to attack us in this turn.
From here we’ll use Perona’s Special, Negative Hollow! We’ve drastically lowered Sai’s DEF and reduced our damage taken!

Great DEF effects as well

Great DEF effects as well

Sai’s HP has been reduced to half after our second turn! But once Sai’s HP drops to half he’ll once again reduce our HP to half and change our Captain and Friend Captain’s slots to unfavorable [STR] slots. Since we have high HP from the start, we might be able to withstand another hit even if our HP drops to half. However, just to be on the safe side we should defeat him here! We’ll quickly use Doublefinger’s Spike-U-Puncture to give our crew an ATK boost and…

Boosted our crew's ATK!

Boosted our crew’s ATK!

Before we could make our attack, with a glowing blue effect, Sai interrupted with a special action! He responded to our ATK boost! And it changed all our slots into [STR] slots!
But this isn’t a problem. By using Armed Fighter Unit’s Special, Changes [STR] slots to [DEX], we’re able to give our crew all [DEX] slots!
Let’s attack Sai with our boosted ATK and matching slots!

You can clear this quest with many other crews as well. Points about this quest are that we can’t expect to deal heavy damage from slot effect boosts by Boo, and Sai will change our slots to unfavorable ones if we give ourselves an ATK boost. Just as we’ve shown, it would be to your advantage to have a DEX character like Armed Fighter Unit, who has the ability to change slots. For this, you can add Dellinger – Donquixote Pirates to your crew.
We also recommend forming a crew that can deal heavy damage without relying on slot effect or ATK boosts. One character we recommend for this is Sabo – Revolutionary Army Chief of Staff. A Special that “adds” damage will deal heavy damage without an ATK boost. Even if Sai’s DEF is drastically lowered by our Special, his DEF boost will still be in effect. Therefore, characters like Ice Witch Whitey Bay – Whitebeard Pirates Family, who can increase damage dealt to enemies with a DEF boost, are recommended.
