Perona’s Wonder Garden

Have you all taken on the Ghost Princess yet?

This time we’re taking a look at strategy for the highest difficulty of Ghost Princess Perona’s Wonder Garden, Adorable.

New Adventure, New Restrictions

Slot Restrictions: STR, QCK, INT, RCV

Slot Restrictions: STR, QCK, INT, RCV

The restrictions for this quest are unlike any we’ve encountered before. This time, the only slot types that will appear during the adventure are STR, QCK, INT, and RCV. Let’s see how this goes!

Creepy ghosts flit to and fro…

He seems confident...

He seems confident…

That canoneer seems pretty confident in his own adorable looks. We’re not so sure ourselves, but we have bigger things to worry about as we soon find out that Perona isn’t going to make this easy for us. The enemies we’ll meet along the way have fairly high ATK, so let’s be careful as we make our way through!

Sub boss Kumacy makes his appearance!

Sub boss Kumacy makes his appearance!

The sub-boss, Kumacy, has pretty high HP, so taking him down was tougher than we thought it would be. He’s got a comparatively high interval between attacks, four turns, but the fight still dragged on longer than it should have, and left us with quite a bit of damage!

Is this the same guy from before?

Is this the same guy from before?

The cannoneer from earlier is back and seems to be having some sort of emotional crisis. In his depression, he self-destructs, hitting us with a pre-emptive attack. Perhaps Perona told him he wasn’t cute enough for her collection.

Ghost Princess Perona appears!

Finally, Perona herself makes an appearance!

 Perona's terrifying Special, Negative Hollow!

Perona’s terrifying Special, Negative Hollow!

Perona’s Special, Negative Hollow locks our Captain Abilities for three whole turns! Not only has our attack power been drastically reduced, but Perona goes on the offensive, hitting us every single turn! We’ve found ourselfs in a tight spot… we had been planning to use Slip-Slip Tracks to reduce the damage we took, but now we find ourselves with no backup plan, and Perona makes short work of us, indeed…

We didn't make it far without a solid plan...

We didn’t make it far without a solid plan…

Building a better crew…

We were pretty sure we had enough firepower the first time, but we’ll need to rework our crew with a strategy just for Perona.

A strategy to combat Negativity

A strategy to combat Negativity

Perona will use Negative Hollow on her first turn, and also when her HP falls below a certain amount. So, we’re going to rely on Sogeking to slow her down and give us a chance. We’re also going to want to boost our RCV so we can bounce back from Kumacy.

Lastly, in order to make sure we get the most out of the chance Sogeking is going to provide, we’ll add Kraken Monster of the North and Knuckle Ensign to turn our slots to STR!

Putting an end to Perona’s adorable collection once and for all!!

On our way to the boss this time, we make sure to put aside meat to heal up after Kumacy and the self-destructive cannoneer.

Store up as much meat as you can.

Store up as much meat as you can.

This time we mean business!!

We weren’t able to learn that well form last time, and we still end up making it to the final boss with a fair bit of our HP missing, but we’re pretty sure we can still pull together and beat this.

Laugh while you can, Perona.

Laugh while you can, Perona.

We’re fairly powerless after we’ve been hit by Negative Hollow, so we’ll just have to attack as we can and hope for meat. You won’t have trouble here if you’ve managed to hold onto most of your HP, but if things look dangerous for you, go ahead and use Firebird Star

Glad we had this handy.

Glad we had this handy.

Next, we watch for when Perona boosts her ATK, and use Slip-SLip Tracks. Hanging in there and steadily wearing away at her like this should do a decent amount of damage after a while.

Now with 80% less damage!

Now with 80% less damage!

Now, at last the moment to clench our victory has arrived! We use Kraken Tentacle Rush, followed by Knuckle Ensign‘s Special, to change all of our slots to STR. Then , right before we attack, we hit Perona with Gum-Gum Twin Jet Pistol!

He can rebuild them. He can make them faster...

All together now!

Victory!

We've finally defeated Perona!

We’ve finally defeated Perona!

This time we managed to Recruit both Perona and the sub-boss, Kumacy!

 Recruited Kumacy and Perona!

Recruited Kumacy and Perona!

We also got a new Title, Hollow Hollow!

Got a Title!

Got a Title!

The crew we used to defeat Perona is only one of many different crews you can use to clear Perona’s Wonder Garden. Go ahead and see what works for you!
